As an Elderly care Assistant with Home Instead Wicklow, your primary role will be to:
• Assist seniors and vulnerable adults in staying at home where they feel safest: Many of our clients prefer to remain in the comfort of their own homes. Your role will be to provide the necessary support to make this possible.
• Support the transition of seniors and vulnerable adults returning home from hospital: After a hospital stay, seniors often need additional help to get back on their feet. You will be instrumental in ensuring a smooth and safe transition.

The Ideal Elderly care assistant
We are looking for individuals who embody the following qualities:
• Educational background: While having QQI Healthcare Modules in Care Skills & Care of the Older Person is preferred, it is not essential. We value a willingness to learn and grow.
• Communication skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial. You should be able to interact effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Professional demeanor: We seek individuals who are confidential, calm, polite, and professional. You should be well-presented and have a kind and caring nature.
• Empathy and reliability: We value empathetic, reliable, and trustworthy individuals who are committed to providing quality, person-centered care in a home environment.
• Transport: While having your own transport is preferred, it is not essential.
• Background clearance: International Police Clearance is required if applicable.
Experience and Training
Experience as a CAREGiver, Home Care Assistant, Carer, or Elderly care assistant is a bonus, but we also encourage those who are recently qualified to apply. We provide comprehensive training through our Home Care Professionals Academy, ensuring you have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in your role. Job Types and Compensation

Work Location
